We are pleased to announce down payment assistance for Fort Bend County to be used in conjunction with your mortgage financing.


The Fort Bend County Housing Finance Corporation Down Payment Assistance Program (“the Program”)
provides first-time homebuyers with down payment and closing cost assistance.
The amount of assistance is $5,000 per qualifying household.

How to Qualify:

  1. Your loan qualifying income must not exceed the limits shown below.
  2. You must not have owned a principal residence in the last three years unless you are a qualified veteran.
  3. You must occupy the home as your principal residence.
  4. You must apply for DPA through a participating lender.
  5. You must purchase a home within the eligible loan area.
  • Maximum Income: $91,560
  • Maximum Purchase Price: N/A
  • Eligible Loan Area: Fort Bend County, Texas

How to Apply:

  1. Choose a lender. Lenders must be approved by HilltopSecurities to participate in the Fort Bend County HFC DPA Program. Interested lenders should contact Hilltop Securities Inc. at 214.953.4176 or
  2. Your application for DPA must be made before loan closing.
  3. Read and sign your DPA application and affidavit and other documentation that the lender prepares and sends to the program administrator.
  4. If your DPA application is approved, the program administrator will coordinate with Fort Bend County HFC to release the funds to title for your closing.

Mortgage Financing:

The Program does not place restrictions on the mortgage financing with regard to type, term, or rate, except to require the mortgage be a primary mortgage and to disallow refinancings unless issued to replace a construction period loan or bridge loan of a temporary nature.

(*Paid by Fort Bend County HFC)

*No fees are due from either the borrower or the lender. Fort Bend County HFC is paying all program fees.
